Secondo capitolo
cinematografico della storia di Angelica. La storia continua con le avventure di Angelica. Caduta in disgrazia dopo la
condanna a morte del marito, il conte Jeoffrey di 

Peyrac, Angelica, insieme ai suoi due bambini, viene
aiutata dal suo primo amore Nicola, originario del suo stesso villaggio, divenuto brigante di strada. Ancora innamorato
di lei, l'uomo 

la porta a vivere tra i pitocchi della Corte dei Miracoli a Parigi, esortandola a coltivare
la sua vendetta verso chi ha condannato a morte l'amato consorte. Nicola rimane poi ucciso e 

Angelica lascia
la Corte dei Miracoli, riuscendo con molta fatica a diventare proprietaria di una locanda, e successivamente a
trasformarla in un locale di gran moda grazie alla 

preparazione di un nuovo prodotto: la cioccolata.
Divenuta nuovamente ricchissima, accetterà la proposta di matrimonio di suo cugino, il bel marchese Filippo de
Plessis-Belliere.........
